FAQ
Have questions about the Outland XT mountain ebike? Below you’ll find answers about range, battery options, folded size, rider suitability, accessories, throttle use, assembly, servicing, and everyday riding.
Can I unlock the speed limit for off-road use?
Yes. The Outland XT ships restricted to 25km/h to comply with Australian EN15194 road laws. However, the motor is capable of 45km/h. For use on private property or off-road trails, you can unlock the full speed and 500W power via the display settings.
Note: We recommend checking local regulations before riding unlocked on public land.
Does it come with a throttle?
Yes, a Thumb Throttle Kit is included in the box for free. You can choose to install it for "power on demand" (ideal for off-road starts) or leave it off to keep the bike strictly pedal-assist for road compliance.
What is the real battery range?
Independent tests by Electric Bike Report achieved up to 129km on a single charge in Eco mode, thanks to the massive Samsung 720Wh battery. Even in high-power "Sport" mode, you can expect 50-70km of heavy trail riding. This is significantly more than standard 500Wh e-bike batteries.
Why choose this Mid-Drive over a cheaper Hub-Motor bike?
Two words:Torque and Balance.
Climbing: The Outland XT produces 130Nm of torque (vs. ~60Nm on hub motors), meaning it climbs steep hills without stalling.
Handling: The motor is in the center of the bike, not the rear wheel, giving you perfect weight distribution for jumps and technical trails.
Feel: The advanced torque sensor measures your pedaling pressure instantly, so the power feels like you are superhuman, rather than just being pushed along.
Will this bike fit my height?
The Outland XT is designed to fit riders from 160cm (5'3") to 193cm (6'4"). It comes standard with a Dropper Seat Post, allowing you to adjust the saddle height instantly with a handlebar lever—perfect for swapping riders or dropping the seat for safety on steep descents.
What PSI range is recommended for achieving optimal performance when riding the Outland XT?
The recommended PSI range for the MAXXIS M315 EXO 27.5" x 2.4" tire is typically between 30 to 50 PSI. However, the optimal PSI can vary based on riding conditions, rider weight, and personal preference:
30-35 PSI: For better traction and control on rough or loose terrain, like trails and technical descents.
40-50 PSI: For smoother, harder surfaces or when aiming for more speed and less rolling resistance.
