The standard Xplorer comes with rigid forks (no suspension), a 48V 15Ah Samsung battery, and a Bafang 500W hub motor. The Xplorer Plus upgrades this configuration by featuring front suspension forks, a 48V 20Ah battery that provides 30% more capacity, and a more powerful 750W motor. Our top-tier Xplorer Sport is equipped with a 52V controller system, a 20Ah battery, and a robust 1000W motor. It also includes premium components such as VEE tyres, enhanced 203mm hydraulic brakes, adjustable front suspension forks, and a high-quality DNM mid-shock for superior performance.

To adhere to Australian regulations, Ridewave Bikes are limited to a maximum speed of 25 km/h, with throttle assistance up to 6 km/h and motor output restricted to 250W for most states. However, in New South Wales, the power limit is 500W, permitting the Xplorer Models to be adjusted to 500W for lawful use on public roads. While you can unlock the bike's full speed and wattage, be sure to check local laws, as this may limit usage to private property or off-road adventures only.

All Xplorer Fat Tyre Ebikes are configured with a factory speed limit of 25 km/h and a power output capped at 250 watts to comply with Australian road regulations. However, when these restrictions are removed, the Xplorer can reach speeds of up to 38 km/h, the Xplorer Plus up to 45 km/h, and the Xplorer Sport up to 50 km/h. Please note that once unlocked and free from speed or power limitations, these bikes are intended solely for use on private property or off-road environments.

All Xplorer Series Bikes come with a half-twist throttle that gives you an instant boost of up to 6 km/h, making it easier to get started on your ride. But for those who crave more freedom and adventure, we offer the option to unlock full throttle assistance for private property or off-road use. In the Xplorer Series, all e-bikes without the ST designation feature a step-over frame. ST stands for Step-through.

Choosing the right front suspension forks depends on your riding style. If you primarily stick to smooth, paved roads, rigid forks might be the better choice. They offer direct power transfer and are lighter, which enhances efficiency and responsiveness. For daily commuters who only occasionally deal with rough patches, front suspension isn’t essential. However, when tackling rough terrains like trails, gravel paths, or areas with obstacles, front suspension forks provide substantial benefits. They improve comfort and control by absorbing shocks and bumps, reduce rider fatigue, and enhance traction by keeping the front wheel in better contact with the ground.

In addition to suspension, maintaining the correct tyre pressure is crucial. Properly inflated fat tyres can serve as a natural suspension system. For the Xplorer Series, it's recommended to keep tyre pressure at or below 20 PSI. This helps cushion the impact of uneven terrain, resulting in a smoother and more comfortable ride.

Fat tyre bikes generally support 20 to 30 percent more weight than standard road bikes. While the type of tyre isn’t the only factor influencing a bike’s load capacity, fat tyre bikes are typically better suited for carrying heavier loads. This is due to their design, which often includes wider rims, stronger forks, and more robust frames. Heavier riders would likely feel more secure on a fat tyre bike, as the larger surface area in contact with the ground provides a steadier grip and enhanced stability.
